Betsey Telford is the founder, owner, and operator of Rocky Mountain Quilts. Since it's founding in 1987, you may have seen her featured in Country Living, Early American Homes, and Quiltmania magazines, and on the Discovery Channel on TV or most recently in Down East Magazine.
Betsey lectures and sells quilts at shows in the U.S., France, and Japan. She also operates the Rocky Mountain Quilts shop in York Village, Maine and her restoration business is still based in Palisade, Colorado.
Visit us in beautiful York, Maine! (We are only 60 miles from Boston!!!)
Our quilt barn, loaded with antique quilts, fabrics, etc. for sale, is located only 1 hour north of Boston, just over the bridge in southern Maine. Other reference points: We are 10 minutes north of Portsmouth, New Hampshire; 4 1/2 hours drive from Manhattan; and only 1 1/2 miles from York Beach on the Atlantic Ocean!
York, Maine is a lovely old New England village with beautiful and historic colonial architecture, dozens of fabulous seafood restaurants, and dozens of wonderful bed & breakfast inns. It is close to all the shopping outlets in Portsmouth and Kittery, and a great place to vacation. We'd love to see you here!
From May 1st through November 30th, the Rocky Mountain Quilts shop in York is open seven days a week: Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and Sunday, 12-5 p.m.
Winter hours, December 1st through April 30th are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday 10 a.m.-4 p.m. We are usually here at other times, too, but it is always a good idea to call ahead.
Off-hours appointments are possible year-round, because Betsey lives in the attached 1748 New England Colonial farmhouse. Call ahead and she will arrange to meet you.
