Important deeply carved and engraved american hunter case pocket watch, Detroit, Michigan, 1859.
Having a double fusee movement with ancillary seconds dial and sweep dead seconds stop watch function. Goldsmith J.E. Allison of Detroit, Michigan created the case for this superb movement which was made in Liverpool, England.
The motifs on the case front are emblems of America and the state of Michigan; the motifs on the back are symbols of the International Order of Odd Fellows. The artistry of the design and wonderful unused condition of this timepiece make it a truly exceptional find.
