Of elegant form, the ovoid body beneath slender flaring neck and curved spout, surmounted by a conforming knopped hinged lid, circular stepped pedestal foot and applied loop handle; the body engraved with an armorial shield, contemporary script monograms engraved verso: T.H over R.S.M; good marks; excellent condition
Note: Wakelin & Taylor were very important late 18th century silversmiths. Wakelin appears in the Jewel Office accounts in 1797 as "Goldsmith and Jeweler to the King" for several items.
