This attractive side table or work stand is constructed of dense high quality mahogany throughout. The richly figured top has rounded drop leaves that when extended provide a generous work surface. The case has two full length drawers with vibrant mahogany panels and subtle decorated press brass knobs. The turned legs have ring and vase decorated shafts with ball feet. The central portion of the legs have an unusual quilted net pattern decorated with a carved floret. The stand has history of owner from New Bedford and this quilted motif is found on other furniture examples from this area. When the drop leaves are open the table measures 34 3/4 inches wide.
