These carved mahogany bellows, which feature a detailed carved basket of fruit with characteristic star punch, originally belonged to American patriot John Winship (1754-1822) who fought the British at the Battle of Lexington, prior to moving to Salem. The bellows are illustrated in "American Antiques from the Israel Sack Collection", Vol. IV, figure P3844, page 1037.
