Fine & rare silver gilt & enamel singing bird box. Movement by the eminent makers Bontem & silver gilt box signed by the Swiss master Charles Brougier. The bird, covered in bird-of-paradise feathers, twists to the left & right, flaps its wings & opens & shuts its ivory beak & sings beautifully. Hidden key compartment. Circa 1860.
