A very fine late Empire/Restoration ormolu mantel clock by the eminent maker Lepine with Cupid offering Venus the chalice of love. The case with original ormolu in superb condition & bronzework beautifully chisselled throughout. The case follows the composition rules of classical painting. Dial signed Lepine Hr. du Roi. Circa 1816. 18 inches tall.
