The head is superbly carved, with an oval face with wide forehead, framed by the cusped hairline and the long-lobbed ears, surmounted by an elaborate diadem. The almond-shaped eyes, with heavy neatly-grooved lids, are set beneath high arched incised brows. The straight nose extends down to the half-smiling mouth, with smoothly-curved lower lip, completing the harmonious composition of balanced arcs.
The high parted chignon is secured at the base by a slender band of braided ellipses, and is drawn up into the diadem. The tresses are fixed by floret-headed pins, suspending heavy beaded swags enclosing large floral motifs.
