A neo-classical pot cupboard, circa 1830-1850, mahogany with pine secondary wood, white marble top; originally designed for storage of a chamber pot; now ideal as a bedside table or storage for towels in a bathroom; the design for this piece is directly related to the quintessential icon of classical antiquity, a fluted column. Pot cupboards such as this one were made in America and Europe; this one is most likely English. In excellent original condition, 15-1/2" Diameter, 29" H.
