A Boston, Massachusetts Tall Clock made by Epes Ellery

This is a wonderful mahogany case tall clock made by Epes Ellery of Boston, Massachusetts, circa 1810.

This mahogany case is well proportioned and is constructed in nicely figured mahogany and incorporates white pine secondary woods. Some of the construction elements include: flared French feet, brass stop fluted quarter columns, brass stop fluted bonnet columns, arch bonnet door. New England style fret work top and three fancy brass finials, a Boston painted dial that is signed by the clockmaker and an eight-day time and strike brass constructed movement of very good quality.

This fine case stands just under eight feet tall to the top of the center finial.
