Wood, purchased 1859 By descent in the Wood family, Connecticut and New York Private collection, Texas Henry Inman visited the William Sydney Mount home in rural Stony Brook, Long Island, for the first time during the winter of 1830. Inman admired the beautiful landscape of the distant New England shore that lies exactly opposite Stony Brook, and he did some pencil sketches of quail that he presented to the Mount family.
