This Rhode Island tea table is of the finest quality mahogany with a highly figured Honduras single board top on a very dense San Domingo base. In Albert Sack's, 'The New Fine Points of Furniture' he refers to a similar table as 'Superior' (Page 267), though Sack's has a drawer which makes the skirt heavier. In Sack's Vol. VI another table is pictured without a drawer, with a corresponding slimmer skirt (Page 1038). Both tables have a center drop and brackets joining the legs to the straight skirt. The table pictured here has a center drop and brackets but the skirt between is a double cyma curve (Cupids bow). Most all the original glue blocks remain with some small angle irons added to stabilize long ago.

Circa: 1760

Measurements: 26-3/4" Tall, 21-1/2" Deep, 31-1/4" Wide
