Pine and copper; height 22 inches, length 33 inches, about 1880-1900. A graphic and highly stylized interpretation of a rare form. The verdigris copper feathers add lovely gestural dashes that contrast nicely with the crouching wood figure. There is a sense of tension in the gracefully balanced body. Found in Amagansett, Long Island.
