Marcel Breuer (Hungarian, 1902–1981) Wood-slat “Lattenstuhl” armchair, 1922–1924 Stained oak with leather Height 37" Width 22G" Depth 22H" Height 94cm Width 56Hcm Depth 571/2" This chair was first exhibited at the Kunstammlungen, Weimar in 1922. Breuer’s design was based on anatomical research to support the heaviest bonesof the human body in maximum comfort. Provenance: Private collection England (The chair was acquired by a Naval officer after the war and had been in the family’s collection since.)
