This magnificent George II burl-walnut architectural bureau bookcase features a partially fitted top, mirrored doors, and a desk section with a boxwood and ebony-inlaid central cupboard door flanked by spiral columns and outer drawers. The escutcheon- shaped mirrored doors, highly matched veneers, and excellent craftsmanship indicate the work of renowned London cabinetmaker Giles Grendey (1693–1740). We originally sold this bookcase twenty years ago.
