An attractive Labeled Federal looking glass, By Kidder & Carter, Charlestown, Massachusetts, circa 1820
This wonderful mirror has an overhanging cornice with ball decorations above a reverse decorated tablet. The tablet is decorated with a warm hearted image of a young girl and boy sharing an embrace. The lower tablet retains an original mirror glass. The back of the mirror has the partial paper label of "Kidder & Carter, / Main Street / Charlestown (Mass)"

Solid cast and gilded on all surfaces with urn flanked by two dolphines, original bevelled mirrors (silvering shows some deterioration) marked 'B&H', presumably Bradley & Hubbard of Meriden, Conn., (1852-1940), manufacturers of all manner of high quality brass accessories, these date from the last quarter of the 19th century. Frame dimensions 8"x19-1/2", 10-1/2" wide at widest point.

A box for loose tobacco or cigars, sailor made, solid mahogany, decorated with a mariner's compass, rope, monogram and three bands of dots and diamonds of ivory and ebony inlay, mid 19th century, American, in excellent condition. Height 6-1/4", Diameter 5-1/2".
