An Italian Eighteenth Century Walnut Parquetry Commode SOLD
A striking Italian Walnut commode featuring intricate geometric parquetry design. This was a time consuming technique where the craftsmen would cut diamond shapes of the same timber at different angles which produced different shaped grain giving a three dimensional appearance. This commode is in excellent original conditioned and is augmented by fine original brass handles and escutcheons.

An Eighteenth Century Dutch Barr Walnut display cabinet from the Saxe-Coburg collection. The curved and moulded cornice features a carved rocaille cartouche above two glazed doors. The bombe base has scrolled supports on carved sweeping feet. This is a fine example of Dutch Rococo furniture made in the middle of the Eighteenth Century by skilled craftsmen using the finest materials.

Circa 1860. A pair of outstanding, Exhibition quality serpentine shape Rosewood and Ormolu Mounted Side Cabinets. The arched pediments are adorned with finely chiselled swags of flowers and classical decoration, repeated throughout the cabinets. The lower sections feature scrolling legs and supports. These Vitrine-Cabinets show just how good French nineteenth-century cabinet-making could be.
