Carved and painted tulip poplar panel of the Washington Family at Mt. Vernon depicted as African-Americans. This is an unusual variant of the famous painting of the Washington family by Edward Savage 1761-1817. Incised on verso, "Carved by J.W. Montgomery Dalton, PA." Circa 1880-1900. 16" x 30"
