A First Period Worcester Porcelain Hexagonal Vase And Cover.
The vases are decorated in a pattern known as Dragon in Compartments. The origin is Chinese, a famille verte pattern from the Kangxi period. It was first used by Worcester around 1765-08 on teawares and on dessert wares from around 1770. A few large hexagonal vases such as this one were made around that time.
