A very rare framed chest with four-paneled front and double-paneled ends. Fully-molded stiles and retaining its original shaped corner brackets. Very few framed chests with their original corner brackets have survived, and this is the only one--out of perhaps two dozen framed chests that I have owned over thirty-years--that has its brackets intact. Oak and pine, in good color. Essex County, Massachusetts, circa 1660-1680
