This clock epitomizes the "Roxbury" tall clock form with impeccable proportions, brass stop fluted columns, choice figured mahogany, and distinctive fretwork and feet. The interior of the pendulum door bears a finely preserved original paper label with setup instructions from the workshop of Aaron Willard. The dial which was produced in Boston features a finely painted moon phase disk decorated with a starry sky opposite a country landscape scene. The dial has floral corner spandrels and is boldly signed in block letters below the center arbor "A. WILLARD". The clock retains a rich old surface with a pleasing warm color.
