This early games table has rounded out-set corners referred to as turrets, a form refined during the Baroque period and popularized in Boston games tables and tea tables of the mid 18th Century. The dramatic diminutive form is complimented by the exceptional wood selections as found in the folding games top. The conforming top opens to a playing surface that is carved a each corner with scoops for playing chips and circular recesses for candlesticks. The shaped apron is fitted with a single long drawer set with original period Queen Anne brass hardware. The broad shaped knees with scrolled returns are above gently curved cabriole legs with delicate pad feet.
