Eliza Sprague Stearns stitched this beautiful silk embroidered memorial to her grandparents while attending Susanna Rowson’s school in Boston.  Mrs. Rowson was renown for the outstanding academic instruction she provided for her young ladies.  She was a talented writer, artist, musician, actress and needlewoman.  Her novel Charlotte Temple was a huge success and remains in print today.
