A superb ladies Hepplewhite two part writing desk Attributed to Reuben Swift, New Bedford, Massachusetts, ca. 1790-1800. The elegant case is made of book matched mahogany, flame birch and flame satin wood veneers. Minor patches and replaced brasses. The coin silver tea set is by Thomas or Samuel Demilt, New York City, ca. 1805-1820 and features a sea monster spout on the teapot.
