Frans Snyders (Antwerp, 1579-1657), Study of a Hound; Red chalk on buff laid paper; ruled border in brown ink. This study of a hound is a preparatory drawing for one of the dogs in 'The Crowning of Diana' Rubens' circa 1628 canvas, now in the Bildergalerie at Sanssouci, Potsdam, for which Snyders painted the animals.
