Geo III silver tray with handles made by John Wren in 1800 in London. Crest in center of tray has motto "Nobilitas Sola Virtus" (Virtue is the only nobility). Text in script on back of tray "L.M. Defflis, dilectus socer, et generosus benefactor hoc amoris testemonium Georgio et Marthae Mance". Thackeray legavit". 22-1/2" wide including handles, 13-1/2" deep. 1-1/2" high. All dimensions are near and approximate & item shows normal wear. Heavy weight, four legs.
