| Exceptional solid tiger maple with unusal applied decoration on drawer front, pine secondary wood, possibly upstate New York or western Vermont,the distinctive legs "a combination of tapered, blocked and turned elements, are thought to be a New York trait of the period and added to the expense of the object because extra work and a jig were needed to create them", (see page 91, THE BEST THE COUNTRY AFFORDS-VERMONT FURNITURE 1765-1850, by Kenneth Zogry) circa 1830.
