A pair of Jam Hooks, also known as a chimney hook or a chimney bow, this very rare pair of cast brass hooks is for securing fire tools (shovel and tongs) in an upright position against the fireplace jam. It is a more elaborate variation of the usual in a 3/4 circle design with a central attaching bracket and with a finial at each end, English, circa 1780-1800, 3-3/4" W. X 5" D. X 2-1/2" H.
