Stunning hand carved ivory bust of a young lady with superb detail and colour.

Emile Bernoud was born in Lyon on September 7, 1864; he died in 1916. Bernoud was an ivory carver who specialized in decorative carvings and adornments for some of the main cabinetmakers at the height of the Art Nouveau period. His commission work included portraits.

This carved ivory bust represents one of these unique works and is exceptional for its fine detail and beauty.
