The 46th Annual Philadelphia Antiques Show promises to be among the year's highlights. Recognized as one of the premiere American antiques and decorative arts shows in the country, this year's event will draw fifty-six of the nation's most distinguished dealers. "Philadelphia Empire Furniture-Bold, Brash, and Beautiful," the 2007 loan exhibit, will unite local examples of early19th-century furniture and give viewers an opportunity to absorb its ornate, oversized, and expressively carved characteristics. A preview gala marks the beginning of the show on April 13th and it will be open daily through the 17th. This year Barn Star Productions' Original 23rd Street Armory Antiques Show will celebrate its 11th anniversary in Philadelphia. Open April 13th through 15th, the show will include over forty specialists in American and Continental antiques. Celebrate the "Garden: Form, Function, Fabulous!," a special show exhibit curated by exhibitor Aileen Minor of Aileen Minor Antiques, Centreville, Maryland will feature 19th and 20th-century antique and vintage garden adornments, all available for purchase.
